FINE ART OF NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Our Approach Is Unique

With a fine art editorial approach, we're a bit different than most newborn portrait photographers. Both Scott and I are trained in studio lighting rather than relying on natural light; this gives us 100% control of our lighting and ultimately the final images of your baby.  Scott is a nationally recognized teacher of studio lighting and photoshop; he is also a master of retouching.

Our final portraits are the end result of two creative minds working seamlessly together, perfect lighting and expertise with handling newborns.  We both have an eye for design and color with a unique perspective behind the camera.  You will have the benefit of each of our unique perspectives.

Session Details

Prior to your session we want to hear about your color preferences, style, and what you would like for your products. Will you be displaying your portraits in baby's room or in your living room?  Would you like us to create a memory book of all the images from your session for you to keep or give as a gift to grandparents?  We will gladly discuss these preferences with you before your baby arrives so we can create the images that you imagine.  We love ideas, so if you are on Pinterest please share your boards with us!  We can't guarantee 100 different poses (they're in baby's control) but we can certainly aim for your ideas!

A good 50% of your session will involve feeding, diaper changes, and cuddling to get baby comfortable. We expect to be peed and pooped on too.  Everything is machine washable so please don't worry!!!

Most of the session will be me wrapping and snuggling baby until he/she falls asleep.  We then transfer baby to a basket or beanbag depending on decision made prior to shooting. We aim to provide you with lots of options at the end, so all sessions have a combination of both basket and beanbag images.

If this isn't your first child, we welcome baby's siblings to snuggle for a shot. And if you have twins or triplets (or more!), our rates stay the same. We have photographed many loving multiples!
